Pinecones and Pinks…

Thanks so very much for stopping by! I’m excited to share my simple winter table with you…pinecones and pinks!

After a little trip to the mountains this past week I have been looking forward to setting a festive table using some of the gorgeous Sugar pinecones that I collected from the trees on our property. It had been quite windy the previous week so pinecones were everywhere…just waiting to be collected! I also came home with wonderful sticky sap covered fingers…’tis the season!

I love keeping things simple during the holidays and enjoy using elements from nature, fresh flowers and old found treasures that I have collected over the years at flea markets, The Salvation Army, Goodwill and garage sales…this colorful table combines all of these loves together…

With an abundance of  fresh from the flower market pink spray roses and old glass ornaments in various shades of pink, the table just had to be filled with this joyful combination…

I first baked the fresh pinecones for about two hours at 200 degrees to get rid of any pesky bugs…

Little vintage silver cups were the perfect size for the spray roses, I love how they reflect the light from the candles. I found these at an Estate sale a few years ago.

To add some variation of height I added a few old pressed glass cake stands and bowls. These are all flea market finds, all under $5.00 each! I love using these knowing that I saved them to be loved again in another life…

Stems of fresh Hydrangea blossoms lightened up the table with their big billowy blooms…

I added floral tubes filled with water to the ends of the stems and then tucked these under the pinecones and greens to hide them from view. The flowers will last for several days this way, simply snip the ends of the stems a tiny bit on an angle and change the water every other day.

Simple white taper candles in old pressed glass candlestick holders filled the room with a lovely simple glow…

Adding few long Eucalyptus stems for a touch of green filled the empty spaces on the table and also smelled wonderful! I used the floral tubes filled with water for these as well…

Creating this table scape was so simple and I can’t wait to recreate this look in different color combinations. My next table might include some purples and lavenders!

Many thanks for stopping by, I hope this might give you some ideas to use in your home during this holiday season. Using elements from nature and fresh flowers happens to be my favorite way to welcome winter!

As always, I adore hearing from you and welcome your wonderful comments and thoughts.

With Love…xoxo
