Spring Tart Lemon Cake
Hi, many thanks for stopping by!
I am thrilled to shared my Spring Tart Lemon Cake recipe with you! I must admit, I am almost embarrassed to share this recipe because it is SO simple. I am traditional when it comes to baking, always from scratch. However, this is one recipe that I absolutly adore and am happy to share with you!
I have been making this cake for years and years, it truly is a family favorite. I like to bake it a bundt pan…the hole in the center becomes a perfect place to insert a tiny vase filled with fresh flowers…
Spring Tart Lemon Cake
Ingredients:
1 box Duncan Hines yellow cake mix
1 large box lemon Jello
1/2 cup canola oil
1 1/3 cups non fat milk
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla (I use Mexican vanilla)
zest from 2 limes and 1 lemon
Glaze:
Juice from 1 lemon
Juice from 2 limes
2 teaspoons lemon and lime zest
1/2 box sifted powdered sugar, add more for a thicker glaze
Directions:
Mix first 4 Ingredients well. Add the eggs, mix well. Add the vanilla and zest. Mix well. Pour ingredients into a bundt pan that has been sprayed with non stick cooking spray, then lightly dust the pan with flour. Bake for about one hour at 325 degrees. Check with a tooth pick to make sure the cake is properly baked. Let the cake cool for 15 minutes. Remove from pan, place on a pretty cake plate.
Combine glaze ingredients. Spoon glaze over the cake. Enjoy!
I like to serve fresh strawberries over the slices of cake…perfect for springtime!
I love to fill a tiny vase with fresh flowers in the center and add extras around the edge…
The darling cake stand is from MacKenzie-Childs …it sure makes my cake feel special!
I hope you will enjoy this delicious cake recipe! It is so easy to make and always turns out perfectly. I would love to hear back from you if you try it! I often made two at a time because it disappears quickly and I promise not to tell anyone if you happen to enjoy a slice for breakfast…
Many thanks for popping in to take a peek today. As always…I truly appreciate your comments, thoughts, questions and ideas!
With Love…xoxo
