My Spring Garden Table…

My Spring Garden Table…
I have always loved setting a beautiful table for dinner parties with friends or just for our family…there is something special about sitting at a table that has been set with beautiful blooms and pretty dishes. Conversations linger through the evening, candles drip and the dessert is always special. I don’t want to look back on my life years from now and say to myself, “I wish I had…” So, I tend to cherish these special moments dearly…

Filled with plenty of color, shapes and textures…my favorite floral arrangements have been the ones that are made up of leftovers! I prefer not to match, to simply fill old silver containers with a fun mix of anything on hand and add clippings from the garden to match the setting…I love they way they feel whimsical and fun!

The garden table is a treasure, found at the Salvation Army on a Monday…my favorite day to shop because most items are 1/2 price! This set of 6 chairs and table was $35.00! I fell in love with the gorgeous color…perfect for the garden!

Filled to the brim, hanging over the sides with tiny buds tucked in…

Roses, Hydrangea, Lilacs, Asters, Wax, Amaranthus, Status, Cabbage, Geranium, Lisianthus, Spray Roses, Scottish Thistle, ranunculus and Protea…

May candles always seem to be wobbly in my old silver candle holders…A few garden blooms tucked in always fixes the wayward wiggle!

Setting the table in the garden always feels like a special occasion when the table is set with dishes that we don’t use on a daily basis. I found a set of these Haviland dishes from France a few months ago. Another amazing treasure from The Salvation Army! I just adore them because each one has a different hand painted floral design…tiny bouquets of colorful blooms. These are perfect just for this setting…

Finding unique dishes is easy, just keep an eye out for them estate sales, garage sales, The Goodwill and other thrift shops. Because we entertain often I love having lots of fun dish options to work with when setting the table. Mixing in a few vintage pieces adds so much character to the table!

These dishes happen to be just perfect for the whimsical blooms on the table and for a slice of coconut cake…

I hope you have a wonderful Spring weekend, thank you for stopping by to take a peek at my garden table…

XOXO
